Meet Our Puppy with a Purpose

At MetLife Pet Insurance, we know pets are more than companions, they’re family. And now, we’re proud to support a special journey that celebrates the incredible impact dogs can have on people’s lives.

We’re working with America’s VetDogs to sponsor a future service dog through their Puppy with a Purpose® program: a program where businesses, corporations, sports teams, and media outlets will commit to co-raising a future service dog. This unique upbringing gives the dog unique training opportunities that will help mold them into a calm and confident future service dog for a veteran or first responder.

From Puppy to Lifesaver

Every service dog starts as a playful puppy—and with the right training, can go on to change a life.

MetLife Pet Insurance is sponsoring Charlie, a three-month-old black Labrador Retriever. Charlie will be raised by a volunteer and exposed to everyday environments, like offices, busy streets and community events, to help build confidence and adapt to the world around them.  These early experiences are essential, helping prepare the dog for advanced training and, ultimately, a life-changing match with a veteran or first responder in need.

Service dogs can support individuals with mobility challenges, post-traumatic stress, hearing or vision loss, and more, helping improve independence, reduce stress and enhance quality of life.

This collaboration reflects our belief in the powerful bond between people and pets—and the meaningful role animals play in helping people live healthier, more confident lives.

By supporting Charlie’s journey from the very beginning, we’re helping lay the foundation for a future of service, companionship and care.
