At MetLife Pet, we strive to offer a suitable coverage at competitive rates. To increase accessibility, we also offer discounts to eligible policyholders.

Deductible discount: Your pet's deductible automatically decreases by $25 (for IAIC underwritten policies) or $50 (for MetGen underwritten policies) each policy year you don't receive a reimbursement for a submitted claim.⁸

Animal care discount: We offer a 10% discount for veterinarians, animal care facility staff, shelter personnel, and more.¹⁰

Military discount: This is available to active or retired military members, veterans, and first responders.¹¹

Internet purchase discount: This applies to the first year of premiums.¹³

Employer benefit discount: We offer a discount to customers who enroll in a policy through their workplace.¹⁴

Preventive Care plan

We strive to help you afford the best care for your pet — whether they’re sick and need treatment or are healthy and going in for routine checkups. To enhance your standard illness and injury plan’s coverage, you can add on our Preventive Care plan. This optional plan can typically help cover costs associated with teeth cleanings, routine vet visits, spay or neuter procedures, and vaccinations, as well as parasite prevention and treatment.²

Holistic coverage

Alternative therapies can help pets manage pain in old age or aid in recovery from a surgery. To help make the costs easier to manage, we offer coverage for holistic treatments — like hydrotherapy, chiropractic care, laser therapy, herbal remedies, and acupuncture.
