When it's too cool to give your dog a bath with the garden hose outside, you have to make a plan to bathe your dog indoors.
Here are some tips to make the chore a little easier:
- Prepare your workspace before letting your dog know it's bath time. Have plenty of towels available to control wetness.
- Use a rubber mat at the bottom of the sink or tub to prevent your dog from slipping.
- Brush your dog's coat prior to getting them wet. This will remove any debris and prevent matting.
- A detachable shower nozzle that attaches to your faucet makes water flow easier to manage.
- Use a soap that is formulated for veterinary use. Using human shampoos or other cleansing soaps may irritate your pet's skin.
- Give your dog's eyes special attention after bath time. Take a warm, wet wash cloth and carefully wipe around his eyes to remove any soap that make have seeping in.
