In addition, excessive grass eating could also signify your pet might not be well. These symptoms could be due to gastrointestinal issues and you should seek guidance from your veterinarian.

If they Aren’t Sick, why Would they want to Eat Grass?

  • Hunger
  • Natural behavior

Should you Stop Them?

You should always consult your veterinarian if you have any concerns. Grass is safe in moderation, but be cognizant of any areas that have recently been treated with chemicals. You should stop the grass-eating immediately if there are known pesticides and herbicides that could be harmful to your pet.

If you believe this behavior might be due to hunger, you can try to alter or add to their current diet to include more plants and fiber.  There are many dog food options out there.
